Cleeve, Cheltenham – January 8, 2024 – CasaGees, a beloved local pizza establishment, is set to surprise and delight residents in Cleeve near Cheltenham with an innovative pizza giveaway initiative throughout January. To celebrate the new year, CasaGees is introducing a unique opportunity for one lucky household each Saturday to receive delectable traditional Neapolitan pizzas – absolutely free!
The idea for this generous giveaway stemmed from an unexpected delivery mishap that turned into a heartwarming story. Co-founder Rachael Willoughby, affectionately known as Mama Gee, shared the serendipitous turn of events. “We accidentally delivered pizza to the wrong Gemma within our delivery area, only realizing our mistake when the intended customer called inquiring about her order. Instead of reclaiming the pizzas, we let the first Gemma enjoy them and promptly delivered the correct order.”
The unexpected recipient was so impressed with CasaGees’ pizzas that she expressed her intent to place an order soon. Inspired by this incident, Rachael and her partner, expert pizza maker Elliott Richmond, also known as Papa Gee, decided to welcome the new year by giving back to the community that has supported them.
Starting this January, CasaGees will randomly select an address each Monday from streets they have served over the past three years. The selected household will receive complimentary pizzas on the following Saturday. Should the homeowner be unavailable, CasaGees will deliver to the adjacent home, ensuring that the surprise reaches someone’s doorstep each week.
CasaGees’ journey began during the lockdown, when the couple diversified their software business by selling pizzas, offering a taste of authentic Neapolitan flavors crafted by Elliott, who hails from the Mediterranean island of Malta.
Since then, CasaGees has delivered over 10,333 pizzas and garnered nearly 300 five-star reviews on social media. Their top-selling pizzas include margherita, meat feast, and pepperoni. The success led them to invest in a pop-up pizza kitchen, catering events like the recent Wigan football match against Cheltenham, numerous weddings, and corporate events like the 25th anniversary party for Augur Torque.
Operating as a home-based catering business, CasaGees serves a four-mile radius around their residence on Friday and Saturday nights, generating up to £5,000 a month with 65% profit margin. Looking ahead, the dynamic duo plans to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs in replicating their success across the UK later in 2024.
Reflecting on their successful year, Rachael expressed enthusiasm for the growth they’ve experienced. “2023 was fantastic for us. Our static kitchen’s revenue doubled, and with the addition of our mobile kitchen, we can share our delicious Neapolitan pizzas with even more people.”
